The couple will be the executive producers of the work-place comedy that explores dating and "sexual politics." The 2005 movie starred Smith as a matchmaker whose life is turned upside down when he meets the woman of his dreams. Fox has already put the half-hour television show into development. [Movie Web]
The stars of Bravo's Blood, Sweat, and Heels are adding a little more blood to their show. Geneva Thomas alledgedly broke a bottle over the head of her co-star Melyssa Ford during a fight while filming for the show. Law enforcement informed TMZ that Thomas was arrested and charged with felony assault. Meanwhile, Ford was hospitalized and received three stitches to close the gash on her head. This is the latest incident to add to Thomas' rap sheet. Last month, she was arrested for skipping out on an $18 cab fare. [TMZ]
Law & Order: SVU will be airing an episode ripped right from the headlines this November. Meagan Good and Chad Coleman from The Wire will star in a new Law & Order: SVU tackling the hot button issue of domestic violence in professional sports. In the episode titled "Spousal Privilege," Good will play a woman accusing her "ex-sports star turned reporter" boyfriend of abusing her. A real life story of domestic violence came to light in September when video was released of NFL player Ray Rice punching his fiancee in the face. While there's no word yet on whether Coleman will portray an NFL player, there are obvious similarities between the two stories. "Domestic violence, with a push from Mariska Hartigay's NO MORE campaign, has recently sparked a long needed national dialogue," said the series executive producer Warren Leight, "this episode explores personal and legal complexities of this intractable problem." YouTube star Todrick Hall is crossing over to mainstream television. MTV will premiere a new docuseries, Todrick, in 2015. Todrick will follow Hall and his teammates as they write, produce, choreograph, and film their full scale productions for YouTube all while balancing other jobs to help pay the bills. Hall rose to fame on YouTube with his elaborate music videos and singing ability which has gained him a following of over one million subscribers.
