Leonardo dicaprio oscar buzz wolf of wall street, Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese unveiled their fifth collaborative effort last night, at the world premiere for their anticipated movie The Wolf of Wall Street.

After working together on multiple films including The Departed and Gangs of New York, Scorsese and his favourite lead are back in the movie based on the debauched tales of real life stockbroker Jordan Belfont.

Starring alongside fellow Hollywood hottie Matthew McConaughey and his best pal Jonah Hill, DiCaprio portrays the rise and fall of the party boy, based on Belfont's best-selling memoir.

Leo was mobbed by fans in Paris at the Cinema Gaumont Opera at last night's grand premiere, where he was joined by Scorsese and co-star Jean Dujardin.

The premiere marks a busy period for Leo and co., who will be busy promoting their movie in the run up to Christmas before keeping their fingers crossed for a nod when the Oscars and BAFTAs announce their nominations in January, following the anticipated Golden Globes announcement this week.

Ahead of awards season, The Wolf of Wall Street seems to be one of the ones to watch with the movie making the American Film Institute's list of 2013's best films this week.
The annual countdown is compiled by juries of professionals and is often seen as a good indicator for the Oscars race. Last year, eight of the nine Oscar Best Picture nominees, including winner Argo also made the AFI list.

This year the AFI has included 12 Years a Slave, Gravity and American Hustle as well as Her, Inside Llewyn Davis, Nebraska, Fruitvale Station and two Tom Hanks movies Saving Mr. Banks and Captain Phillips.

Respected trade title Variety are aleady predicting that Wolf of Wall Street will most likely pick up nominations for Best Picture, director for Scorsese, an acting nod for DiCaprio and a screenplay credit for Terence Winter.
