Alonzo Mourning Caddyshack, Alonzo Mourning had a pretty productive Saturday before his Miami Heat fell to the Celtics in last-second, buzzer-beater fashion. Mourning, who serves as a Heat executive, hit the links with the President Barack Obama.
Mourning was part of Obama’s foursome at Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Fla., where Caddyshack was filmed in 1979, and the experience didn’t disappoint. “I spent six hours in a golf cart with the most powerful man in America talking everything from basketball to life after his term,” Mourning told the Orlando Sun Sentinel.
“It was very surreal and enlightening. It was a dream come true.” Mourning’s golf game apparently isn’t too bad, either, with Obama leaving the outing impressed. “When we left, he handed me the scorecard,” Mourning said. “It read, ‘Thanks for carrying us today.’” Mourning said he promised not to divulge everyone’s scores from the day, but he did say they group was able to get a full 18 holes in despite the rainy weather.
