Had a 484-444 record as a manager, and was manager of the Yankees in 1964, leading them to the AL pennant. Was a coach on the 1969 Mets (World Series winner), and managed the Mets to NL pennant in 1973. He's one of only six managers to lead both American and National League teams to the World Series.
A fan favorite for generations, he's known for malapropisms called "Yogi-isms." His most famous have become part of everyday speech: "It ain't over till it's over" and "It's like deja vu all over again."
Son Dale played in the majors from 1977-87.
