Matt damon ben affleck cory booker fundraiser, Hollywood continues to show its love for Newark Mayor Cory Booker with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon set to headline a ritzy fundraiser for Booker's New Jersey Senate race.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor-buddies will be co-hosting the event with a slew of other big names in the entertainment industry, including producers Jerry Weintraub and J. J. Abrams, former Disney chief Michael Eisner, and Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos.
It will be at the home of Ron Burkle, a Hollywood business mogul who runs a venture capital firm with Ashton Kutcher, with tickets ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
Since talk of a possible Senate run first emerged, Cory Booker has attracted the attention of A-lister entertainers. Bruce Willis, Steven Spielberg, Rob Reiner, "Star Trek" writer Damon Lindelof and Abrams all lent their star power to a fundraiser thrown for Booker back in April at Weintraub's Beverly Hills home.
Oprah was among the hosts of a New Jersey dinner for Booker earlier this month. Booker won his primary race August 13 and now faces Republican Steve Lonegan for the seat to succeed late Sen. Frank Lautenberg.
In addition to hosting the coming soiree, Affleck has also donated to the campaign, as has Spielberg, Lindelof, Eisner, Sarandos and Abrams. According to campaign finance data compiler Open Secrets, Booker has raised $131,000 from the entertainment industry, the third highest after his campaign's finance and law contributors.
