Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Adds Aaron Taylor-Johnson As Quicksilver, The Avengers: Age of Ultron cast just got a little bigger. According to reports, Kick-Ass 2 star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is on-board for the sequel.
Rumors suggested earlier this year that the talented actor was in talks for the role of Quicksilver. Although several movie-oriented websites were certain he’d landed the deal, nothing about his involvement was officially confirmed by anyone associated with the project.
The folks at Latino Review are reporting that Aaron Taylor-Johnson recently inked a deal to play Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Although the actor and the studio haven’t officially weighed in, it’s believed that Taylor-Johnson is good to go.
The actor definitely hasn’t kept his interest in the role a secret in recent months. During a chat with Total Film last June, Taylor-Johnson discussed what makes Quicksilver tick. It was obvious that he’d spent a fair amount of time thinking about the character’s backstory and motivations.
There’s years — over 50 years — of backstory on him all there to use, and I like doing that. Him and his sister [Scarlet Witch] have been abandoned by their parents and their father, and they grew up in Eastern Europe defending and looking out for themselves and each other. His sister really is his guidance — emotionally she’s the one who looks after him, and vice versa. He’s very overprotective physically — he doesn’t want anyone touching her.”
The Inquisitr previously reported that Samuel L. Jackson confirmed Elizabeth Olsen’s involvement with Avengers: Age of Ultron. The Silent House star is reportedly attached to portray Quicksilver’s sister the Scarlet Witch in the Joss Whedon’s follow-up.
“I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script,” the actor recently explained to The Wall Street Journal.
