UFC 164 Results: Anthony Pettis Snags Lightweight Title, The UFC 164 fight card gave MMA fans their money's worth, with four of the main card bouts not requiring the services of the judges, while the sole fight that went the distance was an entertaining three-rounder.

Here are the results of the UFC 164 fight card held on Aug. 31 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wis:

Anthony Pettis def. Benson Henderson

Henderson tried to smother Pettis with his wrestling during the opening minutes of the bout, but Pettis eventually created some space. "Showtime" made Benson pay with some vicious kicks to the body, but he ended up on his back after going for a hand-plant kick.

Henderson tried to work in some ground-n-pound from top position, but Anthony snared one of his arms, locking up a tight armbar. Benson verbally tapped moments later, making Pettis the new UFC lightweight champion.

Josh Barnett def. Frank Mir

Both men came out swinging at UFC 164, with Barnet getting the better of the exchanges. He eventually bullied Mir into the cage where he continued to unload hard shots. A knee caught Mir flush in the face, dropping him to the canvas, and referee Herb Dean quickly rushed in, stopping the action at 1:56 of round one.

Fans at the Bradley Center weren't happy with the stoppage which seemed a bit premature.

Chad Mendes def. Clay Guida

Mendes added another impressive victory to his record at UFC 164, dominating the striking and grappling exchanges. He put Guida away during the third round with a vicious barrage of punches against the cage, forcing referee Yves Lavigne to step in and save "The Carpenter" 30 seconds into the final round.

Ben Rothwell def. Brandon Vera

Vera got off to a good start at UFC 164, landing the cleaner strikers during the opening round, but Rothwell turned things around during the second, getting some work done against the cage. Rothwell continued smothering Vera against the cage during the final round, eventually hurting "The Truth" with a huge uppercut. Ben followed up with a salvo of punches on the ground, forcing referee Herb Dean to stop the contest at 1:54 of round three.

Dustin Poirier def. Erik Koch

Poirier dropped Koch early in the first round, quickly jumping into guard, but Erik almost made him pay for it, locking up a tight triangle choke. Poirier managed to fight his way out of it, and he pretty much dominated the fight from that point on, handing Koch a vicious beating.

Koch almost pulled of a comeback during the final round; taking Poirier's back and threatening with a few submissions, but "The Diamond" persevered.

The judges scored the bout 29-28, 29-27, 29-27, all in favor of Poirier.
