Soulja Boy arrested on felony drug and weapons charges, Rapper Soulja Boy -- real name DeAndre Cortez Way -- was arrested on felony drug and weapons charges after what police called a "routine traffic stop" in Temple, Ga., near the Alabama border, police told the Ministry on Tuesday.

The five men in the Cadillac Escalade at the time of the stop were arrested after marijuana, cash and guns were found during a search of the SUV, which was pulled over for an equipment violation, Temple Police officer Dana Rampy said.

"It was less than $50,000 cash, and it was slightly more than five ounces of marijuana," Rampy said, adding that bond for Soulja Boy had just been set at $10,000.

Arrested along with the along with the 21-year-old "Crank That" singer -- and dancer, as seen in the video below -- were a driver and three bodyguards on felony charges of possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The five men were booked into the Carroll County jail.

Rampy said that a puppy found in the Escalade was picked up by the sister of driver Gregory Latimore, 56, after police called around for help rather than sending the cute little guy to the pound. The vehicle and its driver were from a car service, TMZ said.

The rapper was previously arrested in Georgia in 2009 after running from police and then coming back for his car at the scene of what was said to be a video shoot, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Earlier this month, Soulja Boy attended the BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta. Ministry requests for comment from Way's representatives were not immediately returned.
