Pillsbury recall over plastic in dough: Icing cinnamon rolls in fridge at risk, Pillsbury recall: A recall of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls with icing due to possible pieces of plastic in the dough has been announced by General Mills earlier today, so check your fridges. In the voluntary Pillsbury recall, Mills encouraged guests to throw away any refrigerated Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing that were recently purchased, the Orlando Sentinel reports this Friday, Sept. 6.

The Pillsbury recall affects only Cinnamon Rolls with Icing brands, and no other varieties, types or flavors of Pillsbury products. In other words, both Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls are the Flaky Cinnamon Rolls are not part of the General Mills recall, so rest easy if those items are in your fridge.

The precautionary recall was put into place after General Mills officials feared that fragments of a broken plastic piece or plastic shards may have fallen in with the dough production line. Since it cannot be certain when specifically or which Cinnamon Rolls with Icing were affected, the voluntary recall was made as a pre-emptive measure for customer safety, added the report.

It is only specific eight-count double and single dough packages with the following codes that are included in the Pillsbury recall this week. Products and “better when used by” dates are included below:

• Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing: 30OCT2013 and 31OCT2013
• Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing 2-pack 18OCT2013, 26OCT2013 and 31OCT2013

• Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing: 30OCT2013 and 31OCT2013
• Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing 2-pack 18OCT2013, 26OCT2013 and 31OCT2013

Any Pillsbury dough consumers who have any products affected by this recall are asked to call General Mills for a replacement or refund. Any complaints due to plastic pieces found or some other issue are asked to contact the company toll-free at their national line: 1-800-775-4777.
