Updated Wednesday May 15, 12.21pm: Sienna Miller is the latest celebrity to step out carrying the Mulberry Del Rey bag. The Vogue cover girl carried the bag - in its maroon colourway - to Robert Pattinson's birthday party in London on Saturday night. The bag has previously been toted by its namesake - singer Lana Del Rey - as well as Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence, who carried the bag in its camel colourway in March.

Updated Wednesday April 11, 10.54am: You might be able to get your hands on the Del Rey bag earlier that anticipated, after Mulberry released a limited number exclusively to three stores in London, New York and Singapore yesterday - over a month prior to the official global launch date. The bag is now available in black and deer brown, with the remaining colours to follow in May.

"We wanted to design a gorgeous bag that reflected Lana Del Rey's style and beauty so we thought the bag should be simple and structured yet relevant for now and recognisable instantly as a classic Mulberry piece," creative director Emma Hill told us today. "We wanted it to be functional with an uptown twist as Lana is such a wonderful uptown girl herself; its shape implies structure yet it has gorgeous squidgeablity! To me it also had to be very Mulberry, very us so we gave it the classic postman's lock hardware and a great front pocket - for all your bits and pieces! It's a mixture of Mulberry, a touch of Lana's old-school glamour, and total practicality: it's quickly become our best friend!"

Updated Sunday February 19, 3.25pm: Mulberry has dedicated a new handbag to Vogue cover girl Lana Del Rey, inspired by the singer's signature retro look - the first time the brand has done so since launching its best-selling Alexa bag.
"'I love the design, it's a perfect mix between old school Hollywood and contemporary style," she said. "It's an honour that such a classic and prestigious brand would name a bag after me."

Mulberry creative director Emma Hill first met Del Rey last year and was enticed by her unique, melancholic voice. The singer performed at an LA party for the brand in December and today showed further support by attending its London Fashion Week show, alongside actresses Michelle Williams and Elizabeth Olsen.
"Mulberry hasn't jumped on the trend bandwagon and it has a good mix of glamour," Del Rey told us of the show. "This collection is gorgeous."
The Del Rey handbag will be available from May.
