Kat Von D's relationship with Canadian musician Deadmau5 has apparently come full circle.
The celebrity tattoo artist, who famously got engaged to her beau on Twitter in December, announced again on the social network Wednesday that her relationship is "indeed over."
Man, I'm a fool," Von D, 31, wrote. "Cheating on your loved one is the most hurtful thing one could do. I hate to have to admit, that this relationship is indeed over."
The revelation came as a shock to fans of the on-and-off couple, who began dating in September.In front of nearly 2 million followers last winter, Deadmau5, 32, otherwise known as Joel Thomas Zimmerman, got down on one virtual knee to propose with a jpeg image of a diamond ring.
"I can't wait for Christmas so ... Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me?" the house music producer tweeted.Kat Von D and house music DJ Deadmau5 began dating in September of last year. The two got engaged via Twitter in December.
The oddly romantic gesture was heralded as the first of its kind — at least among celebrities.
On Monday, Deadmau5 tweeted a message that some followers read as an insensitive response to his break-up.
Go out into the world with Love.’ she wrote, sharing a photo of a heart inked on her palm.
"Well now that I'm finally free ... Let's put out some music!" he wrote. "Lake mead day to celebrate today, then back to work on Friday."
His rep clarified to E! News that the producer was talking about parting ways with his record label, Ultra Music, and not about his relationship.
Von D also took the high road, choosing not to address her ex-fiancé directly.
"Onwards and upwards," she wrote later, posting a photo of a heart inked on her palm. "Go out into the world with Love."
