2 firefighters slightly hurt in fire at Atlanta's Hartsfield airport

2 firefighters slightly hurt in fire at Atlanta's Hartsfield airport, Two firefighters sustained minor injuries Tuesday in a fire that sent smoke billowing into an airport concourse in Atlanta, an airport spokesman said.

Reese McCranie of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport said the smoke, detected near the train level of the "T" concourse, apparently came from an escalator motor, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

An Atlanta fire department spokeswoman said the firefighters were slightly injured when they slipped in water.

"The incident was contained within 30 minutes but it did have operational impacts in the beginning," McCranie said.

McCranie said the fire delayed one flight and forced the rerouting of security lines, which snaked through the baggage claim area just before 8 a.m. EST.

Normal operations resumed at the airport.
