Jon Bon Jovi to play Cuomo benefit in Hamptons, If it’s August in the Hamptons, chances are Jon Bon Jovi is rocking with a governor.

This year, Jon Bon Jovi will play a private fundraiser for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday, Aug. 25, according to reports.

Jon Bon Jovi famously threw a party at his home in the Hamptons in late August of 2007 that drew Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and then-New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine.

Corzine led guests out onto the dance floor when the band played “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” according to the Associated Press.

Jon Bon Jovi sits on the White House Council for Community Solutions and has made two public appearances with current New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in recent months. He routinely plays fundraisers and private shows with a group of Jersey-based musicians called the Kings of Suburbia.

Jon Bon Jovi was scheduled to play the New York State Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 28, but the show has been called off.

The group Bon Jovi recently played two shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford without long-time lead guitarist Richie Sambora, who left the band in April due to undisclosed reasons.
